Hey guys,

Here's a thread I posted on my guitar's set-up with the photos--
http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=20130.0

I have a 2005 Wine Red Gibson Les Paul Studio with Nailbomb bridge and Mississippi Queen neck. I just got around to recording the audio clip. Honestly, I don't know how I can go back to other pick-ups after owning a set of these.

Guitar: Gibson Les Paul Studio
Amp: Vox AD50VT-XL
Mic: MXL 990 Condenser

I didn't use any pedals. I selected the "Modern" distortion effect with dry settings (no reverb, delay, or compression) on the Vox combo amp. For all the rhythm parts, I used the NB bridge. And for the lead parts, I used the MQ neck for all of it. I recorded all the tracks straight into Logic Express 8 through my Apogee Duet interface. I didn't use any extra compression to enhance the guitar sounds. Everything you hear on the guitar is all dry with no overdubbing. What you hear is what you get. I wanted to retain the true sound as much as I could. The Nailbomb starts the song off. I hope this helps those who are looking for a similar sound, or for those who are just curious. Let me know what you guys think.

-Byron

Uploaded new audio file and deleted old one. This time with the rhythm parts panned left and lead parts panned right to give the audio space better distinction.

I come to this as a M.Q owner / fan,  but not one who has 'pushed' them in that way. Great to hear them in all their  sleazy, ballsy wonder !  When I see a M.Q in someone's guitar, I know we're going to have fun. Thanks for being my alter ego on that one .   :)

Haha thanks, man. You're too kind :) I'm not too much of an expert on the MQ's yet, and still unsure of their sound, but I look forward to growing with them. I'm already in love with the Nailbomb in my bridge position. The NB sounds great live, and records in the studio beautifully.
