I know exactly what you mean!  It was crying out for a vocal but..... I liked it, and I wasn't expecting to.

vocals are going to make or break the song - hope he gets someone with a bit of soul in their voice and not another c--k-rock hip-thruster.  someone in the Paul Rodgers vein would RULE on that song.

HTH you mention paul rogers and having listened to some koss stuff recently it's hard to imagine a better voice, i
       mean in the bluesy rock thing he's up there with the best of 'em.(sorry if off topic)
