Which singlecoils to go with a Warpig?
« on: May 13, 2010, 05:55:53 PM »
Okay guys.

So I've bought myself a Chapman ML1. It's basically a mahogany HSS strat with an ebony fretboard. It's incredibly awesome, especially for the price. But the pickups suck majorly. So I think it's time for me to take my BKP-virginity. I intend to buy a C-pig for the bridge, but I'm really in doubt as to which singlecoils i should take along with them.

I don't know much about singlecoils honestly, but I really want a nice, clean, twangy tone. My friend has an American Standard Stratocaster with rosewood fretboard, and it sounds very nice and soft.

What pickups would i need for that? They also need to get along with the Warpig. :)

I can't seem to find Tim's email anywhere. Anyone know what it is?

Thanks
Eskil

I have an ash tele that had a warpig in the bridge and an irish tour in the neck - they went together perfectly, and the irish tour is a lovely sounding pickup. I since found that the warpig was a bit high output for me and I've changed it for a VHII, which also works very well with the Irish tour. If you want more output from your single coils then go for trilogys - they are higher output than the IT's but still sound like proper single coils.
Bridge: (A)Pig, HD, Jugg, PK, (A)NB, Crawler, Aftermath, RY, Abraxas, Emerald, BD, VHII, RR, Cobra, Sinner, Trilogy, Stockholm, Supermassive.
Neck: IT, SM, CS, Trilogy, Emerald, Cobra, Blue note.
