Hi, My name is (Ant Glynne
www.antglynne.com) and I have been demoing Wharfedale amps since their conception in 2008. The designer is Steve Grindrod who was the main designer of Marshall Amps for 27 years! (1973 - 2000. After that he went to work with Vox for 5 years and in August 2009 in a collaboration with Wharfedale (part of IAG group based in China). We presented the first models at NAMM 2009. Since then we were at the Nashville in August 2009 and at the Frankfurt Musik Messe this March 2010.
The name just changed t to Albion, but the amps are the same and should be available very shortly in the US.
I have had the pleasure of having the whole range of the all tube heads, 4x12, 2x12 and combos and some bass amps. The all tube guitar amps even at low levels are the most responsive that I have ever heard with regard to musical feedback. I have only acheived this in the past with 2 SLP full stacks at high volume (our band was opening up for ACDC in the eighties! These amps are boutique with non boutique prices! the 50w & 100w amps have two seperate channels and you can switch them or mix them together with a balance pot. the 35w has two channels but no mix function. They really sound sweet, but can also metal up nicely! Two channels (1 pre eq and 1 post eq) provide countless tone options individualy and when mixed together the result is awesome. There are some inovative features like open and closed power amp coupling switch. A phase switch on the 50 and 100w. they're definitely worth checking out if you liked any Marhall amps 1973 - 2000. These amps are the product of years of experience and innovation by Steve Grindrod.
