I'd not heard of them either Philly. I'd heard of guitar building courses that are 'Bailey', perhaps this is the same guy?
... Mark Bailey makes guitars as well as running the courses.
Not surprisingly, his guitars are pretty damn good. He had something very similar to this one lying around the workshop - :o - when I did his course the first time a good few years back. I remembered it as being one of the nicest guitars to play that I'd ever played. Just felt completely "right". I had the chance, just before Christmas, to get him to build me something, so I asked him to recreate that original guitar. Which he's done ... it's a seriously good instrument, and easily as good as that original one that I remembered.
He doesn't really advertise his custom build work. He certainly doesn't have the same profile in the magazines (getting reviews, buying ad space - not that I'd suggest those two were linked
) as some other small builders, but his work is easily up there with the best.
