VHII High's and low's

Hi all,

I have recently been getting down' with my new set of VHII's

I ordered a calibrated set for my Les Paul Classic, which has a 52mm bridge spacing, thse are aged open coils too(Top Job) and uprated all of my pots and caps (thanks Feline!) ...but i have a question-

The DC on my set have read anything from 8.7k- 8.9k Bridge and 7.7k -7.9k neck depnding on temparature-  compare this with my other VHII 52mm (due to go in my hot rod strat) whch reads 9K-9.2k!
Getting down to it- are Ls paul BK's wound dfferently for Les Pauls than they are for  strat derived guitars?

if you catch my drift, a les paul would originally had a 50mm humbucker coil, so would it be underwound for a Paul' compared to a 52mm coil?...even though my Paul' has a 52mm coil  thus leading to the lower reading?

your thoughts on this? VHII readings and what the differnce up to .5k/.3k in a coil could mean

(i am yet to plug the VHII into my Hot rod)

I'd say ohm readings are approximate and the .5k difference you get is probably tolerance and the fact that despite tim is a winding machine, they're still all hand wound.

do they sound good? if they do, i wouldn't worry about the rest.

oh also. forgot to mention, tim usually winds the pickups according to the guitar they're going into when you order directly from him (or from a dealer) so the 1k difference is probably due to it being a les paul. someone correct me if i'm wrong, but an overwound VH2 into a les paul might be muddier than in a strat, since more winds means more output but also more bass response.

A small difference in ohm readings is normal from what I know.
