Pickup-change for a Flying V

I need opinions on the following topic:

I have a custom made Flying V, neck (maple/mahogany-layered with ebony fretboard) through body construction. The wings are of mahogany with a birdseye maple top. The guitar is equipped with the famous SH2/SH4 - combo which i find lacking of warmth and a bit too "nosy" for my likings, which is maybe in part due to the tonewoods..

I am really looking for a more ballsy, warmer tone without loosing too much definition. If the pickups i end up with provide decent cleans in the split positions as well this would be a very nice surplus as the additional switches are already in place..

I mainly play classic rock stuff with it, venturing into jazz/fusion directions from times to times. Sounds i do love are
for clean: Tool (Lateralus-stuff), Pink Floyd (Dark side of the moon - shine on you, crazy diamond), Free (Kossoff  :D)
for overdriven: Led Zeppelin II
and for lead-tone: Chris Poland's Ohm, especially the first self titled debut album (Ohm)



 - so i have been thinking about a Black Dog Humbucker for the Bridge-position, maybe combined with a more "vintage-PU" like the mule or even combined with another Black Dog?

the through neck construction obviously changes the rules completely.. maybe i would go for a black dog. sounds like it might be quite a bright guitar.

It is indeed a rather bright sounding guitar - which is why i was leaning mre towards the black dog rather than for example the emerald.
