That's a great picture, Derek!  Although it looks like maybe no-one had told you it wasn't the '70s anymore....

( Sorry for the hi-Jack Marantz1300, but I'm the man the S.G. 'escaped' from ;so  it might need counselling ).

i really like tim's t-top clones, but i think a set of aged riff raffs would be the thing in this guitar.

somewhere i have done a comparison of the two - you can search for it i guess.

i compared tim's t-tops to real ones and they are pretty dead-on

great story regarding the guitar itself :)

I was genuinely chuffed about the guitar staying in the 'family' - so to speak, hence my rather extensive hi-jack on this thread.

Meanwhile , as gwEm ( adhering to the original and intended topic ) was praising the accuracy of the B.K.P. version of the 'T-tops' - I must also give the B.K.P. Manhattans pictured in my archtop yet another ( very ) enthusiastic mention . Not for use in the Les Paul of course, but rather to remind any casual visitors to the forum that what Tim keeps in the online shop is only part of the story - when you consider the customised / specialised 'goodies'  the B.K.P. team can build for you.   :)

Actuallly , that is 'Son of shirt' - needing to be seasonally adjusted  for the middle aged time traveller.   You are right though Philly -  " There is a corner of some Foreign field,  that is forever 1975" .   Alan Freeman's Rock show  ( " Not arf ! " ) playing on the rather cr@ppy car radio Saturday afternoons, as you went to pick up your 'Bird' from her Saturday job  :  queuing all night outside concert halls in the snow - just because the  credit card booking system had not yet been invented :   the majority of my sporting injuries being caused by falling off my own platform soled boots - and all the lads wondering what on earth The Sensational Alex Harvey Band (  S.G. influence there ) were going to release next .  ( * sigh * ) .

( cue the theme from 'Life On Mars' ) ...
