Single coil sized humbuckers
« on: October 13, 2010, 12:53:51 PM »
I was wondering if it was possible to get a dimarzio single coil sized rail humbucker rewound, and have it sound just as good as a regular sized HB from BKP, not being sure that there only being two magnets to wind around would change the tone all that much, or if it was possible at all? I know similar topics have popped up before; if this exact question has as well then could somebody link the page?

I'd imagine Tim would do the rewind, but I don't think it will get you 100% to a full size BKP tone due to the differing dimensions and parts used, best bet is to talk to Tim and gauge his opinion.

Hope that helps

Tim has stated that BKP have no plans to produce their own stacked 'buckers, but I don't know about rewinds.  He can rewind Filter'Trons and Fender Wide Range humbuckers but I have no idea about stacked ones.

Best thing to do is to give him a call, and let us all know what he says  :)
