My strat Need some pickups
« on: October 07, 2010, 10:48:31 PM »
Hello,
Im just a Few minutes registered and this is my first topic. I hope my English is not to bad  :?

I have read so many messages in this forum but I'm not sure which pickup config I should buy.

I just thought I would go with some Duncan and fender pickups. My local shop, for modding my guitar sells also bare knuckle pu's. And after reading some reviews and listen to soundfiles, I want some bkp's.

My music style is a mix of pearl jam, foo fighters and influences from Jake lee, randy r., blackmore and Gallagher.

My guitar is a fender 60s strat (alder, rosewood)

I would love to get a mixture of a vintage humbucker with 60's single coil in the middle and neck. I don't like big volume differences between humbucker and single coil.

Thank you and best regards
Ben

I have an A2 Stormy Monday & 2 Sultans and can get great sounds from that set.  Another option would be the VH2 & 2 Mother's Milks.  I think either of these would work, though the second set might get more of the sounds of the bands you list.
So many pickups, so little time

Mules or VHII's, with Mother's Milks or Irish Tours. I can get great Gallagher-sounds with the IT's. However, my Crawler (I keep it relatively low) has a good balance to the IT's.
