The Renegade I played I would not call sterile. It had character. The Rebel 20 and 30 though didn't do it for me. But, sometimes guitars and amps don't work together 100 procent. I think my Orange Rockerverb 50 head is made for singlecoils.  Strats and Tele's sound awesome through this amp. I had not the wow-experience with humbucker equiped guitars. To that comes taste. Personally I'm not really convinced by the Egnater-range, but lots of people will be happy with a Rebel.

I had an Egnater Tweaker head for about 3 months, it sounded ok, the stock tubes were absolutely terrible though. There was a problem with the fx-loop in mine, (which turned out to be bad pre-amp tubes) the egnater support was great, I e-mailed them and they re-embursed me for some new tubes (the tubes are warrantied for 90 days), but I ended up returning the amp anyway, I had some financial problems arise, and in the end the Tweaker didn't do it for me anyway.
