stormy mondays shine
« on: October 31, 2010, 08:12:55 AM »
just installed a neck AII sm in my tokai lp  to compliment the already present VHII bridge.great combination.
stormy monday is better than i thought, i wanted a guitar that sounded great clean before i even think about
overdriven tones.the stock pups sounded good cranked but pants clean(11k dc)
stormy monday is great clean (as is the vhii), full of depth and a reletively soft attack.
cranked , it is excellent, full of character, plenty of bite (surprisingly) and makes my tokai into the 'perfect' lp for
about 1200 quid.happy days.
maybe the sm is bkp's best kept secret! posts soon 8)

telerocker,  middle position is as you'd expect, a blend of the two.it could be useful live (but i'm only a bedroom basher)
for chordwork if the neck position became too boomy.
i only recently came round to the sm, really after reading fourth feline's posts on it, it wasn't even on my think about list.
but i listened to some bbking & larry carlton on youtube both delivering great tone, and on tim's advice went for it.
glad i did.
anyone who's after a compliment to a more aggressive bridge should seriously look at these, quite the 'nicest'
clean sounding hb i've heard.don't think it can't rock though.

I asked bec the VHII has a brigh side and the Stormy Monday is soft/warm.  You don't see this combi often, so I was curieus. Thx for the reply.
