Anyone used the Suhr BPSSC system?
« on: November 16, 2010, 07:36:43 PM »
Came across this whilst doing some reading on RW/RP pickups and wondered if there's anyone on here who's used it and if so what was their opinion?

One of my customers has it and it seems to work pretty well for him.

I remember reading about this on a tech forum a year or so back when it was being developed - not Suhr (groan) if it was Suhr who came up with the idea, but he may have developed it further.  I know Fender did something with a dummy coil under the scratchplate on one of their signature Strats to 'buck' hum.

the Vintage thomas blug strat sig has the dummy coil  (bukka switch) thing going on too

all the systems work - but it might vary with the output of the pickups you use. the closer match to the dummy coil the better -   the suhr thing says its best with 6-8k pickups and its adjustable to give it that amount of range.
