I have the regular ol' Ibanez TS 808 and I find it eminently suitable for giving my Cornell a bit of a push.  It's certainly not transparent but it has a certain quality which you might like.  I have no idea what it would so in a high gain situation though.

I'll suggest the T-Rex Alberta if you're into the tubescreamer sound or the Emma Stink Bug which in my oppinion is a bit fatter sounding than i TS and has more gain on tap. Emma's Reezafratzitz is an excelent pedal too, but more distortion oriented in my eyes.

You could also check out the Mad Professor range. should be nice pedals as well.

I've  use a T-Rex Michael Angelo Batio, I like it a lot, but I hate to admit the reason I favor it is mostly the cool paint job.  It's also a nice pedal, luckily.

The best deal IMO is the Digitech Hardwire Overdrive. It is widely overlooked, maybe because it is still new and has the name "DIGITECH" on it. It's almost a secret deal. I would not get an Ibanez or Maxon - the Digitech is at least as good and made in the USA - but cheaper. I had a tough choice between the Batio and the Digitech. The Batio is a bit edgier and I liked that. The Digitech is a lot more versatile, has more headroom and two modes.

Yes, The Reeza is more of an hot overdrive, but on the low gainsettings very useful as a mild drive. The Stinkbug is indeed in TS-terrority, but so musical.

Also consider: award session JD10.

Can be set to be nigh-on as clean and clear as an 820, but has far, far more options to it.

I have a StinkBug at home now for review.

I LOVE that pedal, but it's not nearly as transparent, or versatile, as the Maxon. It also has a sizeable midrange boost. It tightens your tone a lot, but I don't think it fattens it any. Not in the way the 820 or a Klon Centaur do.

Crother double hotcake- 3 gain stages, Clear fat boost with variable presence, 2 modes bluesberry and normal. Increase the gain and you've almost got a fuzz pedal ! Does not mess with your amps tone!

Absolutely love mine!

Nicer and clearer sounding and less noisey than a yjm 308.

Oh man, my head is going to explode!
So many options... I'm in Canada so most of these pedals
you guys are talking about won't be here I don't think. The store I go to has
the Maxon OD808 and some other MXR OD's. I'll probably go with the Maxon
though its pretty expensive, around $180. I might to find a used one.

Check out General Guitar Gadgets ITS8, if you're handy with a soldering iron and have a couple hours to spare. It's basically paint by numbers, but with components. Real easy. It's by far the best OD I have. I can switch in and out different IC chips, different clippers, all kinds of mods right off the bat to get you tones like the Lovepedal Kanji, the Timmy... And then you get to name it yourself. Mine's the "Kill all Humans OD", cuz I painted it somewhat like a robot. Seriously, it's a little time consuming sorting the resistors, but it's well worth it. With the exception of say an Xotic AC booster(which is a modded Tubescreamer with a Baxandall EQ), all the major Tubescreamer circuits and derivatives are obtainable, even getting close to the Boss DS-1. You have to order the extra "boutique" package of components, but it was a $65 total price including shipping. It is seriously the quietest OD I've ever had as well. I'm talking adding noise to the signal here. I didn't have to goof with my noise gate at all, unlike the TS-9, the Maxon OD-9 and the Bad Monkey that I had. I don't know if it's the enclosure or the components on that, but whatever. It's awesome. Good luck on your search man.
