New guitar forum/for jams/collaberation & general guitar foolery
« on: November 29, 2010, 06:24:57 AM »
Hey guys i'm not trying to take focus away from BKP in any way here this is just for fun and hopefully in the long run to benefit BKP.

I was originally planning to run this on the BKP forum but then considered how many threads it would take, requirement of polls, file storage etc so i decided to host it myself.

The site has a few main aims.

1.to enable musicians to easily arrange collaberations and get them recorded.
2. a dedicated place to learn about all recording aspects(articles coming later today )
3. To kickstart the BKP album as it has completely fallen on its arse which is a shame as it was a brilliant idea.

The site doesn't have a name as such yet or any info as it is still very new. If you have any suggestions on what to add feel free to mention it.

I shall be adding an article later about Getting the best out of budget equipment such as using a clean DI signal then reamping it through free vstis and using impulses and also how to program drums in various ways.

I have messaged all the people who were initially interested from the original thread so this is for the rest of you.

Just for reference here is the original thread.

http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=22826.0

Oh yeah also i shall be adding a seperate section on the forum which will be private for BKP only members to keep the exclusivity that i originally hoped for and obviously for the BKP album part as we can't have everyone pretending they have BKPS now can we?

Bump for new members!

Its getting quite interesting over there now, livening up a bit.

Consider it a recording offshoot of the BK forum; if you want to talk about it in a bit more depth than we have space to here, or are interested in starting and want to learn the basics to get some decent songs out, thats what we're up to.

The BK album is still on the cards, but not without BK members!

Not as yet mate, I stopped writing the guides when members started tailing off. If they pick up some more then I'll put what best I can down

This dude on andy sneap wrote a good drum guide though, it might help you. I dont necessarily agree with all of it (its geared to a mindset of quite static and polished 'modern metal' drums and a drum-centric mix in parts, imo), but most of it is spot on. Anywho, would be boring if we all thought the same things about this stuff, and all guides should be taken as a 'thats what this guy thinks, duly noted, what else is there...' sort of a thing, not gospel (mine on jamsite included!)

Cheers. There are particular drum sounds I love but my mixing is A - not great and B - very trial and error. And it's kicks I can never get right. So any pointers are super-handy!

wow this thread was well ressurected!

Didn't expect to see that happening. It would be cool if the forum could get flowing again but im doubtful.

However it is still there if anyone is interested.
