New guitar, new pickups! Halp!
« on: July 12, 2011, 03:21:27 PM »
I'm trying to get a new set of buckers for an ibanez saber series (HH, THIN mahogany body, vintage trem that's been made hardtail). I recently put an aftermath bridge in my scheter classic and it sounds FANTASTIC (tuned to drop C). I have a dimarzio humbucker from hell in the neck for that guitar. Acoustically, the ibanez is a tad brigher sounding, probably because of the thin body. I'd like to get something in my ibanez that is a bit "faster" in repsonse than my humbucker from hell, but with a similar open, clear tone. As far as the bridge, I'd like to still have a SUPER tight response and clarity, but maybe a little more warmth/fat as far single notes go. Keep in mind that both of these guitars are tuned to drop C. Any suggestions?

Ooh, I wonder how that sounds. In my head, a Cpig sounds like Trap Them, lol.

Any other suggestions? Keep 'em coming!

By the way Madsakre, where you from? Your icon totally brought back memories... Insect Warfare is also from Houston (where I'm from and my old band is from too). I played a couple of shows with them back in the day, pretty big ones! I think I know the drummer / guitarist...

I love how a Houston band is somehow your favorite band, haha. They were really tight live, from what I remember! Their drummer was in another hardcore band from H-town, I think Will to Live?

Anywho, any other pickup recommendations? :p

Insect Warfare were ace, the last tour (which was a bit of a farce) was the only time I managed to see them, couple of guys I know were filling in on vocals over the course of it. Well good shows, all the internet sniping aside.

Someone at BKP suggested the nailbomb set, probably with ceramic for the neck (I called them). I think these will sound interesting!
