so i need a PUP that can do both of the stated topics. i was thinking a warpig would be good for that. if anyones got some good suggestions itd be nice to hear. also the PUPs dont have to be BKP, they are allowed to be DiMarzio and SD and any other good PUP company.

i was honestly really contemplating a few suhr model PUPs.

Well you're on the BKP forums so have a little guess about what we're going to recommend to you on here, eh?

What have you currently got? What's the guitar, wood, construction etc? What don't you like about your current tone with your setup?

Without that extra info, we could suggest some pickups, but frankly we'd be guessing as much as you.

The Holy Diver would be a great choice in all but the darkest guitars.

EDIT: The VHIIs are also excellent for hard rock and fusion tones

It would be great to know more about the setup but it sounds like Holydivers are perfect for this.

yah your right. that s a bit vague. it was fairly late last night so ill give you a bit more detail.

body: Soloist
 Mahogany+koa top
Maple on maple neck (bolt on)
 floyd rose bridge

and interms of setup, its incomplete. ive been building a warmoth soloist for a little over 8 months now and the neck is being built and will ship soon. so ive no idea what it sounds like ATM. umm if it helps i have a a DiMarzio cruiser in the neck and a chopper in the middle.

As much as I love the BKPs I have in my other guitars...

I have a Warmoth soloist body, mahogany with Koa top, maple on maple neck.   It has the Suhr Aldrich in the bridge and sounds fantastic, it does the 80s sound really well, and with extra gain on the amp handles modern tones as well.  The Aldrich is the only non-BKP pickup I use.

FWIW, for bridge pickups I have a Painkiller, Cold Sweat, Ceramic Nail Bomb, VHII, Rebel Yell (and I had a warpig).   Of those the VHII will definitely do the 80s thing really well, I just don't know that it would cover the high gain fusion side of things as well.

The most gain I use on my Holydiver is when I play 'Enter Sandman' and it handles it just fine.
