I just came across this review or complaint about the HD bridge and Rebel Yell Neck in an ESP NTII.  Any comments?

I have this exact guitar loaded with PKs - I wouldn't recommend anything else in this guitar, as it simply kicks all kinds of ass in the metal, djent, and drop tuned styles of music.  I'm sorry I can't speak about the link directly, but having this exact guitar loaded with what I "do" have, all I can say is they're so choice.

EDIT:  I followed that link to RT, and the thread's good.  nbarts on the forum knows his stuff; I'm a member over there.  Furthermore, the problem I think is less to do with the guitar, than it is the amp and user LOL   Since that post, I went with the PKs and they're outrageous in bass, mids and highs; most certainly with the NT-II

Thanks, I was wondering because I will be putting a set in the ESP NTII when it comes in.  I special ordered one directly from Japan and will have the HDs put in later.  I do have a HDs in my Carvin Bolt T+ and they sound great.  Can you give me a brief overview of what they sound like in the ESP?

Certainly.

I run my ESP through either a Mak4/Fryette rig or my VH4S.  I found that the PKs took this guitar, and made it a very serious player in the heavier realm of music.  I found the pups work best in a heavier style amp, this isn't a Fender Tweed kinda pickup, not that there's anything wrong with that.  Nevertheless, most certainly it's best in the Mak4 setting, on Dorado, or the VH4S on Ch.3 or Ch.4, albeit the Crunch that's attainable with these pups is definitely worthy no doubt.

As for the sound, really - they took little getting used to for me.  They definitely sounded more middy and almost thin when I first started using them, but then I realized it was very amp dependent and very style dependent.  That being said, in the right environment, this is usually Drop C for me, they cut incredibly well when dealing with amp compression, the bass is super responsive and attack is bullet speed.  The percussiveness is outrageous, but no delay, mud or flub.  There's a gnawing, searing, gnashing midrange bite to them that I grew to love very quickly.  It definitely sits outside of the mix when compared to other guitars, tracked or live. In the solo department, the attack helps, and the clarity is exceptional.  Think HOT with TEETH.  I can't describe it any other way, and I have to qualify this by saying that everyone's ears hear something different...
