Hello Crew,
As some of you may recall, I installed a calibrated set of BDs into my Custom '68 Firemist (Les Paul) a couple weeks back. I've been so overwhelmingly enthused with their crunch, dirt and higher gain sounds, that I simply never took the time to paly them clean for any length of time.
Well, tonight, on board with my 20thA XTC (KT77), I spent the better part of a session just going with the green channel (clean). People, these pickups are OUTRAGEOUSLY beautiful in a clean setting. Talk about TONE!! Brilliant, rich, colorful, full, and super articulate. My goodness, I never thought I'd be preferring cleans over the usual character-laden crunchy bits, but these pups completely SHINE in a Les Paul... Mega kudos Tim & Co., another big thanks!!
Note: The triumvirate of Emerald I ordered for my '57 Black Beauty are getting installed tomorrow. Once everything gets back to my studio, I'll be laying tracks with all the different pups and their respective guitars. The only thing I wish I'd done more methodically was do some pre-BKP samples so the difference would be more measurable. Seriously, anyone wanting more OOOOMPH from their Lesters, the BDs are so sweet. Emeralds up next!!
Peace,
V.
