I'm just personally torn, tbh. I've been advised to buy one or the other multiple times for my Les Paul and I am noe officially confused. I will list what I'm looking for in a pickup below, but rather than recommended me one or the other, could you kind of tell me 'why' that certain pickup would suit my needs and why the other one wouldn't?

The sound I'm looking for is a Drop-C Metal-core tone in a Les Paul. I'm a pickup that can play crushing riffs, but is also articulate enough to mix in fast single-string riffs. I like playing a lot of harmonised melodies as well. Regarding solos, I do like shredding on my bridge pickup now and again, but I also like to shred a lot on my neck pickups: so I'm looking for something in the neck that is also very articulate, that can track down sweeps very well also.

I mainly play music like Avenged, Bullet, Killswitch, etc.

i have had both at the same time and kept the miracle man whilst selling the aftermath one.

For me the aftermath is great.

its tight and pretty damn versatile.

However i just doesnt have the grunt & saturation of the miracle man and just feels smaller generally.

I found the MM to be a much bigger sounding pickup and also more aggressive

Also the miracle man is fluid and cutting for leads and is the king of pinch harmonics

I like what I'm hearing about the MM. I might go that way for my Les Paul, rather than the Emeralds I've been considering.

What I also wanted to know is, how does the increased mids in the Aftermath relate to the more scooped mids in the Miracle Man? How does this impact your tone?

The mids arent as scooped as people would have you believe.

There is a heck of a lot of lower midrange push.

But i think that it makes the miracle man have that bit more grunt as the mids are more agressive.

Whilst in the aftermath they are more prominent which gives it that surgical tightness.

that is the aftermath.

If you like i shall redo the same clip later today with the miracle man.

However i dont have the same amp anymore so the test will be a little unfair

Yh, that would be greatly appreciated. And even with another amp, I should get the jist.

the aftermath is middy as $%&#, almost like the painkiller, kinda hard rockish
reminds me of the holy diver, but much hotter, louder and very scratchy sounding
no near as much low end as the miracle man
I like the aggressive midrange crunch of the aftermath, but the miracle man sounds more growly on the low mids and has an overall clearer midrange, although it is kinda scooped

What do you exactly mean by Scratchy?

You hear a lot of the pick attack/noise in your playing

Well to say I'm more of a lead player, do you think the Aftermath would suit me better then? You could probably summarise my playing style is like Bullet on the album The Poison. Lots of Lead Riffs and Breakdowns, rather than mainly rhythm playing.

Wouldn't the added mids of the Aftermath make it sound fuller though? Oh regarding the riffing sound (not the leads) I'm looking for something similar to Asking Alexandria

Too much in the upper-mids can be aggravating- more so than pushed treble. The low mids are a bigger push, while high mids are like a stiletto to the chest.
I've wasted a lot of time and money dealing with "unforgiving" products- items that show off just how sloppy I am. I want nothing to do with the Aftermath, since I can hear the precision in it.
You should ask yourself if you are a good enough player for certain gear.
Praise the Sunn.

the miracle man still sounds fuller/deeper to my ears
the aftermath is more in-your-face sounding, though
