suggestion for Jackson SLATQH (all mahogany)
« on: August 06, 2011, 01:17:40 AM »
Hello all.

Got myself a new Jackson SLATQH. Its an all Mahogany, string through/neck through soloist, with some serious beef to it. The low end beefyness blows my mind and sounds great. The guitar comes with the standard JB/Jazz combo, and Im looking to perfect this axe with some BKPs.

I have a pair of Ceramic Nailbombs already, and thus am looking for something new. They sound great and I have contemplated putting them in the SLATQH for kicks, but those are some serious metal pickups whereas im looking for something slightly more tamed and smoother.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Ive been looking at the Rebel Yells, and heard that Rebel Yell bridge / VHII neck would be a great combo. Also I am somehow drawn towards the riff raffs, I just love the modern metal clip in here it sounds great: nice and "chewy" is how i would describe it.

Id be playing all kinds of music with the SLATQH, but I would describe the main style as pop music in the style of heavy metal.

Thanks
BKPs: Nailbombs, Ceramic Nailbomb, Holy Diver, Rebel Yells, Blackhawks, Aftermaths

Both sets you mention are likely to work well. RY/VHII would be my fav set in there, but RiffRaffs have serious punch and a nice chime to it (what I read), and they do well in all mahogany. My 2 cents.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

Another vote for RY br + VHII n. Should be the right compliment to a beefy guitar.

Cheers Stephan
