Suggestions for Pups in a semi-hollow.

I have an Ibanez AGS83B, which is a smaller and thinner bodied semi-hollow. Single cut and only a little bigger than a LP. It's the standard maple semi-hollow construction, but the tone has mahogany written all over it. So it's not a really bright sounding guitar unamplified. Standard dual humbucker, 2 tone, 2 volume, 3-way toggle set up.

Of course the stock Ibby pups are blah. I bought this guitar wanting to use it as a moderate/hot output and woodier sounding foundation for a hot blues/classic rock/stoner rock rig. Output wise, I'm looking for hotter PAF to VH I hot output. So nothing super hot or modern. I want to be able to push my amp hard enough but not slam the front end so hard I lose all dynamics.

Right now I'm looking at the Emerald or Black Dog models. You more experienced BK guys have any suggestions?

Mississippi Queens will get you there, might not be hot enough though.

That's the problem I am having. Judging what output I need. I want them to be hot enough so that I never wish for more. But not so hot as to land in modern "metal" type tones.

So do the Mississippi Queens, and if you need more oomph, grab a TS-9

I would consider a RiffRaff too. It breezes classic rock and hot blues. With the right amp it can deliver metal too.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
