I've only just recently decided on a Nailbomb, and I'm looking for a neck pickup to compliment it. Basically something very versatile that can play everything from Jazz, to Fusion, to 80s Metal, to Instrumental, to Shred, to Progressive Metal. My current choices are the Nailbomb or Cold Sweat neck. I'm kind of edging a bit towards the Nailbomb though, as from the clips, it seems to sound great when the volume is backed off. I just wanted to know how it compares to the Cold Sweat? Thanks in advance :) I'll be using the neck pickup in an HH setup with Ibanez wiring, so I'd like it to sound good Parallel/Series, as well as split with the bridge pickup (as I like to do, as Petrucci says "When the 2 innercoils are active, I go into Killzone mode, and people die instantly", lol. OJ).

  • If it sounds good it IS good
The cold sweat has a peak and slightly nasal quality to the high mids that lend it greater fluidity in leads and chime in cleans. Its a bit more refined sounding than the NB, which is a great neck pickup but bassier and a little harsher/rougher/more aggressive (but also fuller).

Also consider the holy diver neck. Very cool, versatile, great balance of warm and clear, low enough power for clean and light crunch to sound authentic, hot enough for it to rip if you want it to. Probably my favourite BK neck (followed by the aftermath).

Or buy a dress.

Yh might be the sign to get the Rebel yells in that case. Looks like I'm going to be playing 'White Wedding' lol. Cheers for the other advice though :)
