Anyone fitted neck+bridge P90s to a Strat?
« on: February 01, 2006, 01:36:25 AM »
Im considering buying a maple neck, alder body usa strat and wondered if anybody has fitted a P90 to both the neck and bridge? i'm fter a fairly meaty blues tone.
Any suggestions on which P90 to have in which position would be more than welcome plus any tips on how to retrofit to a HH configured guitar.
Cheers. . .

I have middle and neck P-91's on a PRS original EG.  This has an alder body and maple neck with rosewood fingerboard.  I put a Crawler in the bridge position.  I spoke to Tim and he made me a calibrated set, with Alnico V magnets but a lower DC wind to balance the output.  I love them and would recommend a set with possibly a P-92 bridge, though the P-91 as a balanced set might give you what you want as well.
So many pickups, so little time

Would you have to put a Gibson spaced bridge into the strat to get the right string balance?
