I have it in two guitars (both mahogany bodies, maple tops and mahogany necks). I don't find it too bright in either. "Too bright" is not a comment I see often in connection with the CS neck.

BTW: have you asked Tim?

Mines a Maple Neck-Thru/ Alder Wings though? Not mahogany. Mine will be a hell of a lot brighter. I'm just looking at the EQ, and it has the highest Treble rating out of all the pickups. I just want to be sure lol.

And I messaged Tim, but he recommended the Aftermath, but I'm finding it too dry for my liking, and a little bit too tight/djenty. I really wasn't looking for a pickup that extreme. I want something a little bit more organic. I only mentioned I was looking for a BFMV sounding pickup originally. I guess I should have ellaborated more. I've messaged him back now though with a little bit more description on what I'm looking for and whether the Holy Diver/Cold Sweat would cut it. Just waiting on a reply now :)

Alder is not necessarily brighter than mahogany but in that construction the maple is likely to dominate - luthiers on the board please correct me if I am wrong. Still - the CS neck is a humbucker, not a single coil, and also not a pickup with an extreme voicing (like e.g. DiMarzio Humbucker from Hell).

I would also be interested in Tim's comments and whether he suggests any alternative options.

The Holy Diver and Cold Sweat will be fine in that setup Ben said. He said the neck thru should provide more bass transfer, so for the sound I'm looking for, it's a great choice. Will order them come Friday :)

Cheers for everyone's advice. :)
