Black Dogs doing the Br00talz
« on: February 05, 2008, 05:05:15 PM »
Had some fun downtuning the Edwards with a BlackDog in the bridge and boosted the drive channel of a Budda Superdrive with a Fulltone OCD.

This is really not my style of music, so maybe the sound is wrong, but I'd like to crank it up now  anyways :P

Reminded me of Adam Jones' tone. And I love that kind of tone. Heavy and organic. Good stuff as always, hunter.

Your clips are good as ever. Would prefer it if it wasn't downtuned, although you almost made it sound acceptable. Just don't like downtuning :?

That's exactly what I was thinking! Sounds great. I'm looking at getting some nice vintage hots for an LP I'll be getting and the BlackDogs are a definite contender.
I use Warpigs, Nailbombs, Holy Divers, BlackDogs and VHIIs.

(for the 1st 35 seconds) intro to Reverie/Harlequin Forest, from Ghost Reveries by Opeth. Nicely done, and the tone is spot on. This is why I contend the Black Dog is perfect for Opeth tone.

needs a bit more presence, but the midrange growl is amazing

the budda superdrive sounds like a killer amp
its preamp circuit is pretty much the same of the naylor superdrive and the famous dave friedman's "naked" amp used by billy howerdel on a perfect circle
