Installed a miracle man in a fender celtic esquire tonight
« on: January 28, 2012, 09:17:01 AM »
I had briefly tested an abraxas in there. The abraxas was probably more versatile, but on a one pickup guitar, versatility is not a primary concern for me.

Suprisingly tight. I don't think I have ever played anything close to that tight before. It cuts, it snarls, and it is mean. The sound it makes out of a boosted mesa in standard is just unreal.

I think it is a bit of a one trick pony, but man what a trick.

Hella trick isn't it?!! :) I had one in the bridge of my USA Strat for a year, it meant business all right.  I split the coil (slug coil active) and it was a totally usable tone, not too bright at all, surprisingly so.  You might consider a mini on/on switch or a push/pull pot and do the same.

The parallel configuration really lacks bass and has an overly bright top (in my experience, bridge pickup) so I can save ya some time and effort concerning that. Rock on.

I did the same with mine (push/pull on the tone pot) and have the same results.
