Well i found this whilst searching on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7392065048&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Now i know that there is alot of confusing over these pickups, some are built by stew mac and some are built by some other guy who i can't remember the name of. Now is the pickup pictured in the ebay auction the real deal? I always thought the real ones didn't have any print on them.

I would say that looks like a stew mac one.

I had a real BL one a while ago and it had no writing on it, slightly thicker blades and a made in usa sticker on the bottom with 500xl hand written in silver pen below it.
"What frequency are you getting? Is it noise or sweet, sweet music?"

The only real Bill Lawrence pickups are made by Bill himself and are only available via his website : http://www.billlawrence.com/

All others are cr@p sounding copies.

After trying BKP's, we could all say that about any pickup... ;)

The one I used to own didn't have any writing on it. I can't really tell if it's a real one or not. It's pretty confusing.

Pierre is right, although to be fair, they are still legitimate BL pickups as this is the company that has always manufactured them before the various messy court cases, that lead to BL going his own way.

Dont know where Stew Mac comes into this but this is  Bill Lawrence USA

still mighty fine pickups....very comparable to ANY pups known.
