International Guitar Trade. Germany x England...?!?!?
« on: February 19, 2012, 11:02:02 AM »
Is there any germans here that traded guitars with other countries of the EU???
Do you need to pay Taxes because of trades?
How does it works?

Have anyone experienced  any INternational Trade within the EU? whats the procedures on doing it?
im willing to trade my gibson Flying V for a Jackson 7 with a Forum Bro from England. im in Germany.

Let me know if any of you could help me
Thanks in advance
JP

Yh, I don't see why they'd charge you. I do all my guitar/amp/parts shopping at Thomann and that's based in Germany and I've never had to pay taxes/import to the UK

Yeah so whilst we are on this subject... anyone posted to Germany from the UK before, and if so, any suggestions of which couriers to use?

I have - and for international shipping I usually use www.parcel2go.com.

They'll give you a variety of quotes via FedEx, Parcelforce, TNT etc (I think they used to include DHL also, but not any more apparently).
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I would NOT recommend using parcelforce. I've had very bad experience with their German partner, GLS, on two occasions.

My best experiences have always been with DHL, who, unfortunately, are usually more expensive. But the good thing is that it is both DHL in the UK and Germany and not like Parcel Force/GLS or other couriers, who work with different companies.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog
