Emerald in the middle position on LTD SC-608b 8 string?
« on: March 06, 2012, 06:23:45 PM »
So I talked to Tim Mills and he said that if I wanted a pickup that sounded like a neck humbucker, I should go with the Emerald in the middle position(because thats the closest thing to a neck position I have on this guitar).  Does anyone have any experience with these(especially an 8 string version of it)?  I just want to make sure I'd be getting the right pickup.  I'm planning on pairing it with an Aftermath in the bridge in a guitar that's got an Alder body and a Maple neck.  Thanks guys!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunentally I personally do not have and experience with the Emerald, though I have heard loads of good stuff about it on this forum.
Let me say though that Tim knows his PUs and is a bloody genious. If he says Emerald, IŽd go with an Emerald. If I had a buck for everytime I heard his recommendations did not satisfy IŽd be able to buy cheap set of strings right now.
