Hi guys! Newbie here! :)

I'm planning to replace my pickups soon. Due to lack of availability here of extended range guitars and pickups. I'm left with the choice to post a thread here. What BKP would you recommend? My guitar's body is mahogany by the way and I play almost any types of music :)

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Could you perhaps elaborate a bit on any types of music? Because right now that could mean that you want to play Beatles, Neil Young, Steve Vai, Meshugga, Pantera, In Flames, Blink 182, Bob Marley,..all on the same axe.
How far do you actually go? Where is your main focus? I assume rock and metal, cause you got an 8 string, but who knows^^

Also what qualitys do you want in your sound? Smooth, agressive, fat....

Plus what other gear are you using? The amp makes a huge difference in the recommendation.
BKPs in use: 10th set / RY set / Holy Diver b, Emerald n / Crawler bridge, Slowhand mid MQ neck/ Manhattan n
On the sidelines: Stockholm b / Suppermassive n, Mule n, AM set, IT mid

I play rock, metal and jazz :)

As for the sound, I'm looking for a pickup with these qualities:
- can get that Meshuggah, Periphery, Lamb Of God heavy rhythm sound (also those 80's hair metal tones)
- can get that  Jason Becker, Yngwie Malmsteen, Greg Howe, Brett Garsed, Allan Holdsworth, John Petrucci and Stevie Ray Vaughn lead sound
- can get that John Petrucci and Eric Johnson clean sound

I'm REALLY sorry if I can't elaborate it well, I'm really new at this and I have less knowledge about gear :(

As for the amp, I have an Orange Dark Terror and a Peavey Vypyr. But during bar gigs, I don't bring those because the amps are usually provided there. :)

Thank you for replying :)
