Handmade '59 Les Paul w/ BKP

took me 3 months to make, most of the time was spent waiting for parts to come in!
total spent was around $1300 and the result shows! it is such a beautiful guitar.

Congrats! That's something different: classic Les Paul body (nice tigerstripe), but the shark-inlays ooze Ibanez and the headstock reminds me of some seventies and eighties Japanese neckthroughs.

Thanks! But the inlays are Mustaine and he uses Dean :p

Mustaine used jackson first which is where Deans inlays came from, albeit reversed, probably because the specifc sharkfins jackson used are trademarked or summat. Beautiful build!

I especially like the body / hardware colour scheme in that mix of teal / petrol blue and how you have mixed chrome and brass in the hardware ( as shown better in the second photo).  The recessed knobs add to it also.  As Telerocker said, the headstock is redolent of the 'first wave'  of 70s and 80s Japanese neck throughs. Kaiwa comes to mind.  For my tastes, the sharkfins and dots may be 'Over egging the pudding'  a bit - and I would have matched the front of the headstock to the body coulour / cosmetics - but I am a middle ageed boring Geezer, and so my tastes are hardly representative.  In any case that is quite eye catching !  8)

the color scheme is Silver-Gray and Gold hardware with Nickel pickups. no teil/blue brass or chrome :p the pics were taken on my iPod so thats why theyre not the best

I'm always impressed when I see home builds!

I must admit that the guitar did take me by surprise though - I was expecting something that was a bit more classic looking!
