Radio Station from boutique pedal
« on: February 14, 2006, 03:41:29 PM »
Hi All,

I got an issue that I thought I post up here to see what you guys think.

I have a fender hot rod deluxe amp and a gibson sg with a warpig in the
bridge.  With just the guitar or any other pedal I own I do not get a radio
station.  I just bought a new boutique metal distortion pedal and when I
hook it up I get a radio station coming out of the amp.
Here is the weird part.  If I do not touch the pedal I get no radio station.
If i touch the pedal I get the station.
The pedal is aluminum housing with an enamel finish.  No paint, its just
bare metal box.
This is a prototype pedal from http://www.protonepedals.com/index.shtml
so the guy is looking into the issue and doing some heavy redesigning,
but wanted to hear your opinions...thanks

Just a thought.
I'm gonna go home and open up one of my other pedals and touch the bare metal inside to see if I get a radio station.
If I do, maybe I could just paint the bare metal pedal I have to solve the issue.
If not, then I am @ a loss..
Maybe it is just my house wiring and I never had the issue b4 because all my other pedals are painted.

Perhaps it is using the case as the -ve.  If it is you would need to redo the ground to miss the case, which may be simple or  may not be a major pain in the ass.
So many pickups, so little time
