Wow... This thread is 2 years old...
Heh, yeah... almost.
Well, it took almost a year to get whole instrument done and finished.
Me and Fin.Instruments first thought about using poly-lacquer on it with a hue of orange/yellow to give it the "vintage-look" but ended up with nitro varnish. Didn't need any hues or tints + it gave it more authentic '62 feel. So Fin.Inst. did some experimenting with different nitro varnishes (because some of them nitros sold today are pretty much cr@p if you ask any expert). Finishing the instrument took some time for sure :)
And then my laziness took another half a year to take photos and post 'em here. Sorry for that guys.
Thanks to Fernando Duarte too, for pointing out those Tim's custom '62 pickups. They are absolutely fantastic and lovely. I highly recommend that set for anyone who wants legendary Strat-tones with the early 60s vibe... on a Strat with a slab-rosewood fretboard.
Anyway, congrats. That's a beauty.
Thanks a lot.
Congratulations from me too- great looking guitar.
Thank you. It's a classic for sure... olympic white with a rosewood fretboard. Sort of black and white contrast. Works the same way with black body + maple fretboard.
Congrats! Nice strat you have.
Thanks to you too, sir.
With '54 and '62 Strat-replicas I have few bases covered sound and tone-wise.
Next gonna have a custom '63 Tele-replica... in sherwood green, double bound of course :)
