Hey Guys,

The time has come where i have decided that i'm updating my gear for future proofing and because i have alot of stuff that im writing/releasing in the near future.
I was wondering if you could help me decide on some pickups for my guitars.

I have a Jackson RR1 - http://www.jacksonguitars.com/en-GB/products/search.php?partno=2803060878
and a Gibson Les Paul Studio (The model before the 2012's, i think its the 2010 or 2008 model).
I play through a Fractal Audio Axe FX II.

I love the Jackson but i really dont like the stock pickups and am happy to change them.
I love my Les Paul but depending on what others reckon i could possibly get a better tone with different pickups.

Im mainly looking to play styles similar to many progressive/technical bands e.g The Faceless/The Haarp Machine.
Obviously not only to that style but so far tone wise its leading towards that.
Im looking for something that can give me them great expressive distorted guitar rhythms and leads using chords and technical riffing as well as some warm glassy cleans.

Ive personally looked at these pickups listed in the thread title and ive been leaning more towards Aftermaths but i just need some clarification from other professionals, or personal opinions.

Thanks guys, any opinions and info would be hugely appreciated :)

Well for starters, The Faceless (or keene I should say) uses the EMG 81/85 combo so the closest sound to that would probably be the miracle man set. If your changing both guitars I would put a MM set in the jackson and an Aftermath or Painkiller set in the LP.

Hm, my choice would be different: Miracle Man in the Les Paul (it's a great combo), and in the RR something warmer to counter that Maple Neck and Ebony. I'd go with the Alnico Nailbomb, for me its sound always reminds me of Dream Theater (unfortunately my playing is nowhere near Petrucci's).
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog
