Pickups For My Strat

Please review asap!  Tim has recommended the 63 set for my incoming ash/maple strat so I'm very curious as to how you get on with them.

Will do dingleberry :) out of interest, what did you ask Tim for that resulted in him recommending the '63s?

I told him I'll be getting an ash/maple strat with texas specials in it that sounds pretty good on neck and middle but the bridge is a bit thin and harsh.  I want to play some classic strat stuff like SRV, Hendrix, Dire Straits, he recommended a 63 set w/ baseplate on the bridge for extra depth for that classic SRV tone

I don't know if BKP has a turnback-guarantee, but if you don''t like them and you contact BKP immediately, I guess there's no problem to trade them for other pickups. Anyway, fiddle with the height since to find the sweet spots. Scatterwound pickups are sensitive for that. BKP's also have enormous clarity, so you might to have to adjust your amp-eq.

I found the same thing with my Riff Raffs, it took me a little while to get them exactly as I wanted, and required some fiddling with my amp.

Tim recommended the 63 set for my hardtail 57 Bravewood strat.  As it's still a work in progress I can't tell you about the sound, but I've known Tim for 8 years and he is almost always spot on with his recommendations (as long as you tell him what you really want).

The pickups arrived today and I got them installed straight away. I haven't even tweaked the heights at all yet, and i'm already blown away. These are absolutely incredible pickups, really perfect in every way.
