New idea: superstrat

Hi, I'm non convinced of the idea of a telly that can sound like a LP, because probably at the end will not be a LP. I have think on Superstrat with H-H configuration. Strat is for me a perfect guitar because I like the shape, body contour, pots position and so on.
I would be a suggestion on body and neck wood but with this ideas:
1. For the neck pickups I like a lot old Santana sound
2. For the bridge, instead, more hard rock sound like Van halen
3. For the neck I would dark (chocholate color like rosewood/pau ferro/wenge) exotic wood, but not too expensive or rare, but I'm open to other wood choice, but wood that no require finish.

Santana uses guitar with mahogany neck/body, while VH guitar maple/ash, so very different wood. What is you suggestion? Wood with a sound halfway between mahogany and maple?

Because I want a Warmoth guitar, so I can choose the neck that I prefer... No one guitar have 41 mm nud width that I love.

1) abraxas pickup is Santana voiced, as far as I know he used all mahogany guitars
2) people recall his super strats, but a lot of his stuff was recorded with the Ibanez destroyer or a 58 V. His sound came from his amp and pedals in my opinion
3) this would be bubinga

Combining Fender and Gibson qualities usually leads to a PRS as Ben says. It's hard to truly combine the qualities.

I also think the wiring attributes to his sound. My PRS does the Santana sound pretty good even though it's a CU24. Much better than my other guitars anyway. It just behaves differently regarding the tone control, very responsive.

I'm sure of this. Pedal and amp is more important of guitar to contribute to final sound.

I think it is a real option for you. It can be used unfinished, has a rich brown colour similar to stained mahogany and has a brightness which is indicated by warmoth to be between maple and mahogany which is what you wanted. i have a warmoth bubinga neck and it feels great.

From Warmoth Tone-o-Meter, bubinga is very similar to maple, close to maple, so I think that isn't halfway between maple and mahogany. The color is too reddish...
