odd questions about pickup covers and swirl paint theme
« on: March 20, 2013, 11:37:03 PM »
im in the planning process of making a green/purple swirl guitar and wanted to know if it was possible to buy pickups and ask for just the covers to be sent then after i figure out how to psuedo mount them in the appropriate place and i dip the guitar the colors and swirls match on the covers.  once they are dipped, send them back to bkp and have them attached to the pickups then sent.

additionally, would anyone know anything about things to watch out for from the paint such as are there some that do strange stuff to the sound once fully done or does a type of sealer do similar problematic things.

Hi joshuaeddy27

I'm afraid we do not send out covers separately. Also I don't think it would be wise to do this as when we fit the pickups they will need to be wax potted, cleaned and play tested. We would not be able to take responsibility for someone else's paint work if it were to chip or peel off. Also there is an issue that we would not know what chemicals had been used on the covers which could contaminate the wax in our pots. We also couldn't put a warranty on something like this, so in this case we could not offer you that service.

Just a thought, have you considered our Burnt Chrome finish? This might be a way to resolve this.
