Footswitch dead
« on: April 14, 2013, 01:18:59 PM »
Its a two button 1/4inch jack Fender type (tremolo and reverb) - only 9 months old.

Insides are simple - 2 pots - so it should be too hard to work out the problem.

If I plug it in it switches off the reverb and tremolo (I assume that is at the amp socket) but no amount of twiddling with the wires in the switch will allow any switching on either the reverb pot or the tremolo pot.

So I am assuming a) a dry joint in the connection from pots to the main cable or b) a dry joint in the jack?

Any thoughts?

It could even be a break in the cable itself somewhere.
