I like them, but I wonder if these kinds of mix-and-match "novelty" designs are better suited to mid-price models like the Pawn Shop range, rather than the Custom Shop?

Funnily enough, I was just looking at gold anodised pickguards on eBay.....
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Exactly what I thought first as well. Didn't realize they were custom shops at first. Some of these would be great as MiMs like the current Cabronita.

Me three. I'm sure they'll sell like hotcakes as they always do though.

I am a Fender fan, but these look like imagination failure to me - like had just discovered that guitar design software on the internet.

The Pawn Shop range pwns these.
BKPS: Milks, P90s, Apaches, Mississippi Queens, Mules, PG Blues, BG FP 50s, e.60s strat custom set

+1, and I am afraid these CS-models won't hold value as CS-strats en tele's do.

I'm sticking by my initial thumbs-up reaction, but these are very good points.

I really do wonder who's likely to pay CS prices for these guitars.

And while we're talking about these hybrid designs, I'm really surprised Fender haven't made a mid-price version of the Telemaster (or Jazzcaster as Warmoth call it!), that remains a very cool design.
