This looks very promising, will give it a look later, donīt have the time right now.

The sampling range is great, should yield interresting info.

Out of those the following would be my top three:

1. Rebel Yell
2. VHII
3. C-Pig

RY out in front by a margin.

A lot of the ceramic pickups sound very similar to me in this test.  I would probably put the C-bomb at #4, but the C-Pig was more distinctive.  I think that these riffs maybe didn't showcase the best aspects of some of these pickups, such as the Black Dog, and was more suited to comparing the ceramic pickups, but then again it made them all sound a bit 'samey'

That was the modeller....

Whilst entertaining these kind of comparisons are pretty useless due to the modeller masking most differences. It doesn't help with how high in the mix the kick is too its masking the attack on the chugs

If you watch each clip through there are three sections.

1. with drums and a second guitar (PRS with aftermath)
2. with drums and no second guitar
3. by itself

Even comparing 3 with 3 I found a lot of the ceramic ones kind of samey.  SGs have a distinctive sound that combined with the scooped, bassy C-pig might have made it stand out more, but in general I found the alnico pickups more lively.  I quite like the Black Dog when you can hear it by itself but again I don't think that style of riffing brings out its character very well.  It's something you'd play if you wanted to show off the capabilities of the Aftermath, rather than something like the Black Dog.

The tone used for all the demos was so unbelievably awful that it didn't matter what pickups were in any of those guitars.

+1!

It needs to be more neutral to sound correct, he has boosted a lot of treble in the mastering which ruins the balance...where are the mids? and he needs to use the same guitar and amp and just change the p/up for it to be a fair test.
