Im going to buy a new amp soon and canīt decide which one to get. There is no opportunity to test in my area. I want to go for a smooth, thumby and clear tone (think Van Halen, AC/DC, etc.). In the moment I play a small Jet City JCA20h (with an attentuator), it isnt really tight and got no thumb at all. Especially Palm Mutes sound really flabby. Im now on the hunt for either a 1987 or 1959. My favorite is the 1959, but 1987 are easier to get and the second pro on the 1987 is that I only have 100w cabs (Framus 2x12 w/ WGS Invaders and a Marshall 4x12 1960AX w/ Greenbacks), but I plan to mod my future amp with a PPIMV anyway. Im also worried that the 1987 has not the bass response and the clarity of its bigger brother.
The guitars are not the problem at all... Got a Kramer with a VHII, and two Les Pauls. One with a Mules set and the other with a Black Dogs set.
