Looking to pair up "The Mule" with "Mississipi Queen" on my Flying V, any ideas?

Hello everyone!

I'm new on the forum, i hope i can get some help here, thanks in advance.

So, i have a Greco Flying V from the 70's, right now it's pretty "hot rodded", whatever that means. Currently the guitar has "The Mule" on the bridge and i'm very happy about it, it sounds full, sharp and lovely. For your reference, this is the actual guitar and me playing:

Now that i have a little money to invest on my guitar i would love to get a neck pickup, the obvious choice i bet is to get a "The Mule" neck pickup and be happy, BUT, i really dig the P-90 tone, specially the "Mississippi Queen".

What do you guys think? I'm scared both pickups are going to sound great but "out of space" or "unbalanced". I would like to get the punch on the bridge and the "creamyness" on the neck, but i wouldn't like drastic volume or frequency changes.

Any help would be more than welcome, thanks again!

I have a Mississippi queen neck pickup which currently resides in the bridge of my strat. I have tried it in a couple of guitars but never in a combo with a mule.
From what I know though, I think they would team up pretty well. The MQ is a warm,fat sounding pickup and being Alnico IV, is the same magnet as a mule. There wouldn't be any balance issues in terms of output. The only issue you may have is some p90 hum!
I reckon the mule and MQ combo will be nicely suited to a v type guitar and should give you some great classic rock tones

By the way the mule neck pickup is really really nice too!

Main reason I'm adding my voice to this is I have an 81 Greco V. Lovely guitars.

Now, and this is VERY subjective, i know the Mule is a very awesome pickup, at least the bridge version. Would you say it has more "mojo" than the MQ?

I really like single coils in the neck position, i guess i'm just wondering if the MQ is as awesome and well made as the Mule.

Greco guitars are just super cool, i have played a couple Gibson V's and they are very, very similar.

Obviously tastes are very subjective here, but if you like single coils at the neck then you're not gonna go far wrong with the MQ. I had my one in the neck position of a strat for a while but I found it a bit too fat and bloated but it works really well in the bridge position, sounds great for slide too.
I'm a big fan of the mule neck, it's perfect for the blues and southern rock styles I play. It's not dark and muddy like some neck pickups can be. Just clear, warm and open sounding. As for mojo, the mule has more mojo than you could shake a stick at, but that's just my opinion!
Sounds too me though that MQ is what "you" really want.

I think that's a fine combo for a V. Those open sounding pickups let the tone of that big lump of mahogany speak. You might engage a little more hiss from the P90, but on the other hand my BKP-single coils are not very noisy, so it probably won't get out of hand.

Great to hear more opinions about it. Open sounding is what i'm looking for. I don't care too much for noise in pickups, i have been playing strats for a long time with terrible, haha :)
