I saw Agents of Abhorrence play here in Adelaide on Sunday night. They are doing an Australian tour and are originally from Melbourne, having been around a few years now, with a Toshi from Japanese grindcore band GATE on vocals for this tour. They have toured quite a lot in Asia recently and played US gigs like the Maryland Death Fest. Anyway I noticed this guitar when they played here in 2008 (supporting Insect Warfare's final tour) and had a proper look at it and a chat with Ben Andrews (guitar) after the show. I held it in my hands and said 'I could never play this', because it is left-handed, but what an interesting guitar! Apparently it was made by a friend of his in the USA, I think California, but I can't remember a business name. It has a full aluminium neck, 25.5" (Fender) scale and custom P-90s. He wasn't really sure what the specs were on the P-90s but it is an impressive guitar, if a little bright sounding for some people. He runs it through splitters and loopers and has a Marshall and Ampeg running at once, the lower signal going through the SVT 8x10" bass setup. There is no bass player in the band, just guitar, drums, vocals.
Anyway it's unusual enough that I thought I should share it.
