Isn't the RiffRaff sort of Early Zepp tone?
If I remember correctly, the Riff Raff is a version of ACDC style tone.

One presumes the 'buckers voiced with Zeppishness in mind would be the Black Dogs.

Please excuse my ignorance - if I had thought about it a little more I would have made the connection to the "Black Dog" ref.  Just not an ACDC fan Sorry.

Eh, no more ignorant than I was myself: I didn't know the Riff Raffs were an AC/DC reference either until it was pointed out to me! :)  I didn't guess the origins of the Cold Sweat or Nailbomb, either.  And I'm still not sure about some of the single-coil names' origins:  Mother's Milk?  Trilogy?  Sinner?  Damned if I know! (And I'm sure I saw Mother's Milk explained once; I've just forgotten ....)

There we go -- I kind of had the Chili Peppers drifting in the back of my mind for that.  Wouldn't have guessed the Malmsteen or Priest refs though!

While we're at it, does the Piledriver name have an artist/song-based origin?  Or does it just designate a particularly brutal tele pickup? :)

I know that it's a Status Quo album... i'm not sure but it may well be named from it.
