pups for MIK Casino
« on: March 16, 2006, 06:06:02 PM »
Maybe this has been discussed before, nevertheless, I would want to be guided well.  I am new here and I would like to change the pups of my MIK Casino.  They are P90's, and I would like to know the views of the forum, for the best replacement; where I do not have to make any mods on the guitar, just drop the pups in, solder and play.  Any comments and recommendations?  Thanks in advance.

Unfortunalty we cant offer replacments for the neck pickup on a casino as they are a special spacing that we are unable to perchase the components for. We can, however re-wind the origionals and put new magnets in them. We have done this countless times and have always had very good results. Please feel free to call us for any additional info.

A guy called Tinus has rewound P-90 in his Epi hollowbody and I have Mississippi Queens (HSP90's) in a hollowbody.

I'll asure you it'll sound great.

Wow, those were fast replies, thank you very much.

As to the tone, definitely I would want a 65 Casino tone, much like what John Lennon has.  May not be totally the same (woods, guitar, wiring, hardware differences), but would like a little bit better than the one I have now.  I use Fender Stage 100, a Twin and Princeton 65 DSP for amps.

My problem is, I am from Far East Asia and may have a hard time sending you my pick ups for rewinding.  Any suggestion for the bridge pups at least, if the neck pick ups are special; something that will just drop into the pick up holes of the Casino?

Again, thanks for the comments and suggestions.
