Hey everyone, I'm new here
I created this thread to talk about angled pickup and Boden7, I'm thinking about replace the Lace Alumitone X-Bar with a BKP set since I tried a WARPIG set on my New Skervesen
The babies

The Boden7 is a fanned fret guitar with
angled pickup, not
slanted like the Skervesen, and I've few question if you allow :P
1/First of all, all BKP are not built like a X-bar, EMG or Blackout, they have plots!! and those Pickup in Angled position will not have the plots aligned with the strings... :shh:
I read in a forum
"lot of people seem to be obsessed with the notion that the strings must be directly centered over pole pieces or else the pickups performance will be somehow diminished. Common sense has always told me that it really doesn't matter, electronically, because the magnetic field is extended enough beyond the pole pieces themselves that close is close enough,so to speak.Maybe cosmetically it looks better to some to have the strings and poles perfectly aligned, but I can't really see any harm if they're not. What say ye?"Also Magnetic's Field analysis written by Malcom Moore exists here
http://www.moore.org.au/pick/06/06_gobd.htmApparently it's not a real problem if the plot aren't aligned with the string

Any experience here?
2/ The Boden7 is almost full chambered Body guitar with a huge sustain and resonance, With X-Bar it sounds like an old wodden crate and it's sooo duuullll whitout gain, I don't like at all this pickup...
I'm looking for something more powerful, accurate with a real high gain, I'm between Aftermath and Juggernauts
Have you any advice?
Does Any other BKP pickup seems to be more "adapted" for my needs?
3/ My last question ("horray") does someone already tried to put a "soapbar" (7 strings) in a Boden7, does it fits? (can't find the exact measurement of the hole pickup...)
Thanks for you reply
Fred
