Warpig volume pot cleanup
« on: March 14, 2015, 12:55:56 AM »
Ok so how easily does the warpig clean up on a high gain metal amp setting by using the volume pot? If it doesn't clean up very well does it clean up well in coil splitting mode? Thanks.

Apparently Warpigs split and run in parallel very well.  I have yet to try this mod but it is simple to do as long as you have room for the switch.

They can clean up quite nicely with the volume pot, as least in a brighter guitar.  They tend to have quite a dark tone and are not suited to acoustically dark guitars like Explorers.  You can get it to clean up in an Explorer but you will get a very dark clean tone.  If you like that it's fine, but I prefer to have somewhere to go on the tone knob.  I moved the same pickups to an SG and they are great there.

If you are worried about the output of the neck pickup a Juggernaut neck might be a very good alternative.
