Humbucker Set for Mayones Setius Gothic
« on: March 21, 2015, 08:13:32 AM »
Hello everyone,

eventhough there are many topics out there discussing Pickups for a Mayones Setius I'm not quite satisfied with the results. Suggestions go to and fro, thus my research didn't yield a good result.

Initially I thought about a Black Hawk Set for a Setius Gothic, since it's advertised as similar to active pickups clarity, which sounds great to me. Video reviews on youtube imply versatility, which again sounds great to me.
Yet after some research on these forums the Black Hawk seldom gets recommended for a Setius. The Black Dog is often mentioned (for the bridge position at least) with several suggestions for the neck position (why no Black Dog neck?). Mircale Man, Holy Diver, Aftermath, Painkiller, Cold Sweat and so on are suggested here and there. Thus my confusion.

My preferred genre of music is mostly metalcore and (melodic) (post-)hardcore, but I'd also like to retain a musical diversity. I do not want a one trick pony in this guitar.

I can't see why Blackhawks shouldn't work in a Setius. They will do those styles, have a lot of output and are extreme versatile from what I've been reading here on the forum.
