Mules gettin' their surf on
« on: April 09, 2006, 08:41:29 PM »
Well Indys got me into some surf music now, and I thought I'd try and learn Foot Tapper by The Shadows, turned out ok so I thought I'd post it here. The backing track clips a bit.. This was the middle setting on the LP switch (neck and bridge Mules on) through my v amp 2 on the classic clean patch, with some reverb and slight tremolo that you can hardly hear   I'm not sure if I really like this recording to be honest, theres a load of mistakes and the chordy run down bits sound weak to me.. have a listen I guess!

That kinda works- I must admit to scepticism before I heard it. This was one of the first songs I ever learned many many years ago.

Not bad - it has a good surf sound and you get the surf groove and vibrato correct - It shows the Mules work well as you could easily stomp to it.

Now play some Dick Dale................

- but you can tell its not a strat or a jaguar, which goes to show - spend some more money and then buy some Apaches  :)  :o
BKPS: Milks, P90s, Apaches, Mississippi Queens, Mules, PG Blues, BG FP 50s, e.60s strat custom set

Haha yeah when I can afford it I'm getting some BK's for my strat copy for sure. I want apaches but I dont think theyd balance well with a higher output humbucker in the bridge such as an Emerald or Abraxas

That's not bad for a humbucker loaded Les Paul. A bit too nasal for the style IMHO. But it shure shows the versitility of them Mules.
